About Us

Brandy Pie Book Company makes children's books that teach life lessons through dramatic stories set in creeks, mountains, backyards, and kitchens. They tell of children, dogs, teachers, grandmas, parents, nurses and neighbors who learn to do hard things, help others, and make happiness. Our books have meaning you can trust.

The People Behind The Pages

Kathleen Harward, Founder

Kathleen Harward founded Brandy Pie Book Company after 14 years as a campus lawyer helping college students overcome mistakes, learn resilience, think entrepreneurially, and develop their abilities to make their own and other people’s lives better. She started this company as an antidote to a growing culture that encourages our youth to blame and destroy instead of create. She calls her children’s stories “the pots and pans” stories of life. She knows that children would rather play with the pots and pans they can reach in your cupboard than a toy out of a box. Children lean toward what is authentic!
